"If like us, you’re a fan of luxury hotels, then you’ve almost certainly heard of the Mezzatorre. If you haven’t heard of it, then you’ve almost certainly seen it on your Instagram feed. Peach-coloured watchtower building and peach-coloured umbrellas above a picturesque bay sound familiar? Thought so. Mezzatore is Ischia’s best-known secret..."
"On a clear day you can see all the way over to Naples from Mezzatore’s 16th-century watchtower, but head down the staircase to the spa’s bougainvillea-framed thermal centre where the hotel’s private spring feeds into hydrotherapy pools with powerful jets and waterfalls to pummel away every ache or niggle."
"If you're the kind of person who dreams of La Dolce Vita, you probably envision the ultimate in Italianness: an indulgent lunch (possibly by the sea...no, definitely by the sea), surrounded by impeccable design and seemingly effortless style, in a beautiful and historic setting." Welcome to the world of Marie-Louise Sciò.

"It is all about discovery: the discovery of artisans, brands, people, places, food, music – it is very sensorial, joyful and happy."
“Il Pellicano attracts a certain kind of crowd. It is kind of a self-selective place in some ways. It is very private and has always attracted a kind of crowd that never wants to show off or be seen. It’s kind of a hidden – not so hidden – treasure. It’s the least flashy place from its guests to the way it’s done."
"La Posta Vecchia balances contemporary Italian elegance with a Baroque style of vivacity, where guests can expect an elegant and artful experience, residing in refinery amongst Roman mosaics and historic artefacts."
"The Teller. This is named after the Negroni recipe mixed at Porto Ecole's Il Pellicano hotel especially for German photographer Juergen Teller. 30ml Carpano Antica Formula vermouth; 30ml Campari ; 30ml Cambridge Distillery Three Seasosn gin; splash of Chinotto soda; orange slice."
"After several years in Turkey and Greece, the sloop is returning to Ischia [...]. She will be docked by Ischia Ponte for the island’s film festival, before becoming exclusively available through the Mezzatorre Hotel and Thermal Spa as a dreamy day trip offer for guests."
"To that end: chuck your brain in a vat with this “Summer at Hotel Il Pellicano in Porto Ercole, Italy” photo and tell us Italian beaches aren’t the yardstick by which all Salt Interfaces should be judged by."
Inspired by the island of Ischia, Creative Director Ian Griffiths transports the house's latest collection to a historic Italian villa.
This evening’s Max Mara resort show, inspired by Capote’s voyage to the less-traveled-to island, was the first-ever big-ticket fashion show held here. The precise location was a castellated hotel named the Mezzatorre, once a villa owned by Luchino Visconti, whose position on a promontory overlooking its own turquoise-watered, parasol-lined private bay would make any film director itch to shout, “Action.”
"Who wouldn’t want to take a trip to the island of Ischia, wondered Ian Griffiths" creative director of Max Mara. That is precisely what he and his team did to present the brand’s resort 2022 collection", with a show held at the striking Mezzatorre, overlooking the Gulf of Naples.
